GST Deadline Extensions Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic

The Government, under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, extends time limits due to COVID-19.

From March 20 to June 29, 2020, any unfulfilled actions' deadlines are extended to June 30, 2020.

This extension applies to proceedings, orders, notices, appeals, filings, and other actions under specified Acts.

Notable exclusions include certain provisions of the CGST Act related to e-way bills and compliance chapters.

E-way bills generated between March 20 to April 15, 2020, have validity extended until April 30, 2020.

The notification aims to alleviate compliance pressures during the pandemic.

It emphasizes flexibility while ensuring essential tax functions continue amidst global challenges.
