New Amendments to GST Rules for Easier Compliance

The Central Government, under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, introduces amendments to simplify tax procedures.

Effective April 21, 2020, registered persons under the Companies Act, 2013 can submit Form GSTR-3B using electronic verification code until June 30, 2020.

A new rule, 67A, allows registered persons with nil returns to submit Form GSTR-3B via SMS using a mobile number and One Time Password.

This SMS facility is applicable for returns with no entries in Form GSTR-3B tables for a tax period.

These changes aim to enhance ease of compliance and facilitate smoother tax filing processes.

Amendments ensure adaptability to technological advancements and streamline tax filing for businesses.

These revisions reflect the government's commitment to modernizing tax administration while prioritizing taxpayer convenience.
