Amendment to GST Notification for Defense Authorities

Central Government amends GST notification regarding Ministry of Defense. Amendment made to notification No. 50/2018-Central Tax, dated September 13, 2018.

Proviso inserted exempting specific authorities under Ministry of Defense from notification's application.

Applies to authorities listed in Annexure-A with effect from October 1, 2018. Amendment issued based on Council recommendations to streamline GST application.

Gunjan Kumar Verma, Under Secretary to the Government of India, signs the notification. Annexure-A lists code numbers allotted to principal controllers/controllers of defense accounts.
