The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has issued Order No. 06/2017-GST: Form GST REG-26 to provide clarity on the registration process under the GST regime.
The order specifies that the registration process will be completed within three working days of the submission of the application.
If additional information is required, the applicant will be given a maximum of seven working days to provide the necessary details.
If the applicant fails to provide the required information within the given time frame, the application will be rejected.
The order also clarifies that the registration certificate will be issued in Form GST REG-06.
In case of any changes in the information provided during the registration process, the registered person must update the details within 15 days of the change.
The order also specifies that the registration process for non-resident taxable persons and casual taxable persons will be completed within three working days of the submission of the application.
