Doubts have been raised as to whether the remuneration paid by companies to their directors falls under the ambit of entry in Schedule III of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (hereinafter referred to as the CGST Act) i.e.

Certain representations have been received requesting for clarification regarding applicability of GST on supply of service by State Govt. to their undertakings or PSUs by way of guaranteeing loans. The issue was examined by Goods and Service Tax Council in its 43rd meeting held on 28th May, 2021.

It has been decided to put in place an IT-Grievance Redressal Mechanism to address the difficulties faced by a section of taxpayers owing to technical glitches on the GST portal and the relief that needs to be given to them. The relief could be in the nature of allowing filing of any Form or Return prescribed in law or amending any Form or Return already filed.
