Download Contract Note for Traders from Zerodha
Zerodha issues a contract note for every transaction executed on the stock exchange. This document is a legal requirement for all stockbrokers and serves as a confirmation of trades conducted on a specific day on behalf of a client. Typically, it is sent by the end of the day and is available in a digitally signed electronic format. To view segment-wise profit and loss details, taxpayers can download the Tax P&L Statement from their Zerodha Kite portal.
Steps to Download Contract from Zerodha
- Visit the Zerodha Console portal.
You can access it here.
- Click on the “Login With Kite” option.
You will be re-directed to the login page. Enter the “Username” and “Password” and click on the “Login” option.
- We move to the dashboard of the Zerodha Console.
Click on the Reports from the Dashboard - Select the appropriate options from the drop-down list.

- Select the report type format
Click on the “Download” option.
Details of Contract Note for Zerodha Traders
A note provides the key details of a specific transaction, including the date, time, price, and quantity traded. It also contains a Reference Number for verifying the transaction details with the stock exchanges. A valid note should include the following details in a structured format:
- SEBI Registration Number: The registration number of the Trading Member or Sub-broker.
- Trade Details: Information such as Order number, Trade number, Trade price, Trade execution time, Traded security and quantity, Brokerage charged, and other service charges.
- Signature: The signature of the authorized signatory or a digital signature in electronic format.
- Bylaws and Regulations: Information on arbitration bylaws and regulations.
